We grow more kinds of grapes than you could poke a stick at, so instead of challenging your linguistic or memory skills we have simply chosen a mixed bag the best tasting grapes from our Heathcote vineyard, singled them out or thrown them all in together to make a collection of wines that tick all the boxes: School night? Mid-week pizza? BBQ on the deck? Fish and chips? Hot date? Plastic cup on the beach? Look no further. Montevecchio has all the answers.
Montevecchio wines are all about simplicity and fun, but never boring. Grown at our Heathcote vineyard in central Victoria, which is home to over 20 different Italian grape varieties, the name means old mountain referring to the Cambrian origins of the regions famous red soils.
The delicious and approachable Montevecchio wines are inspired by the everyday drinking wines of Italy. The streamlined range including a bianco, rosato, rosso and moscato are fresh and vibrant, designed to be enjoyed in their youth. The blends may change from vintage to vintage but the vibe stays the same.

Montevecchio Bianco is a co-fermented field blend made from vermentino, fiano and a small percentage of moscato giallo.
Fresh and fruity yet savoury, this wine shows notes of ripe white peach, fresh cut red apple and minerals. It is crisp yet giving on the palate with a clean dry finish.
Montevecchio Rosato is now made from 100% lambrusco maestri, a change from the last few vintages. The famous Emilian grape, more known for sparkling wines, is an exciting rose variety for it’s beautiful colour and acidity.
Red fruit and charcuterie aromatics and a juicy, savoury palate with a hint of dried herbs and a lingering finish make the rosato a good match for nibbles on the deck this summer.
Montevecchio Rosso is a co-fermented field blend made from an assortment of red Italian varieties. They can include nero d’Avola, sangiovese, negroamaro, lagrein, aglianico or sagrantino in varying percentages depending on the vintage.
Aromas of vibrant rasberry and purple fruits are balanced perfectly with a savoury meatiness and refreshing acidity. This medium-bodied wine has plenty of supple fruit, soft tannins and is designed to be enjoyed in its youth.
Montevecchio Moscato is made from 100% Moscato Giallo, a superior moscato selection imported by Chalmers from northern Italy.
This refreshing, light and fruity wine has just a hint of spritz, allowing the bright sherbet, elderflower and honeysuckle flavours of the moscato giallo grape to take centre stage. It balances sweetness, acidity and alcohol perfectly in a style reminiscent of the great wines of Asti.
